Markerbot Digitizer Desktop 3D scanner Goes on sale on October

It is the first major product launch by markerbot since it merged with
professional 3D print company Stratasy this month.

"The Makerbot digitizer is for early adopters, experimenters and
visionaries who want to be pioneers in Desktop 3D Scanning" The
company said in a statement.

The Marbot digitizer will be shipped to the first buyers in October
and will retail for 1,400USD (£900)
It is designed to allow the replication of object without any need for
user to learn any 3D Modelling software or have any other special
expertise.

To demonstrate how it works, Bre Pettis, Markerbot CEO scanned a tiger
figure and created an exact replica with a 3D Printer.
Apart from 3D printing, user can scan in object, make some adjustment
and upload them for the World to see.
